Week 1: Loneliness

We all had monsters under the bed as kids. As adults, they hide in our hearts.

Week 1 of Grown-Up Monsters explores one of the most common yet hidden struggles we face: loneliness.

Scripture: Mark 1:35–45

Week 2: When Fear Won't Let Go

Fear is natural — but it doesn’t have to control us.

Psalm 3 shows us how David prayed in the middle of crisis. Instead of denying his fear, he brought it to God. When fear speaks loudly, prayer reminds us who our shield is.

Scripture: Psalm 3

Week 3: When Shame Defines You

There’s a difference between guilt and shame.

Guilt says, “I did something wrong.”
Shame says, “I am something wrong.”

In the final week of Grown-Up Monsters, we look at John 21 and Peter’s restoration. After publicly denying Jesus, Peter is met not with condemnation, but with grace. Jesus recreates the scene of failure — and rewrites the ending.

Scripture: John 21
