When David brings the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, two very different processions unfold. One ends in fear and tragedy. The other ends in worship, blessing, and celebration. Through these two parades, we discover an important truth: we don’t decide how God’s presence comes to us—God does.
Ultimately, David’s story points beyond itself to Jesus, the King who made a way for sinful people to experience the presence of a holy God through His sacrifice.
Scripture: 2 Samuel 6
