Who are my Neighbors?
Neighbors include those hard-to-love people we call family. They’re those who live with us and near us. They may be our co-workers, classmates, teammates, or even someone God puts in your path who is not in your friend group…yet!
Why would I take a step to be FOR my neighbor?
- We’ll see Jesus as we follow in his footsteps, and Jesus was a good neighbor.
- If we FOLLOW Jesus, we’re taking wide steps, and these steps might grow us. They may even take us out of our comfort zone and grow us to be more like Jesus.
How did Jesus demonstrate He was FOR His neighbor?
- He told a story about a Good Samaritan who showed he was FOR the nameless, faceless person he chose to care for and help. The point? A good neighbor acts with radical kindness. (Luke 10)
- A good neighbor also invites and shows up to gatherings and meals, like the weddings and funerals and dinner parties (John 2 & 11; Matthew 9)
